Three experimental musicians wrote pieces in response the recent Silent Explosion exhibition in the National Museum of Wales by leading Welsh contemporary artist Ivor Davies.

When Ivor Davies found out about the new compositions he asked the composers Julia E Howell, Richard McReynolds and Joseph Hillyard, as well as Leona Jones to write music for Ancient Mariner - Not an Opera.

This work will be performed on several balconies of the foyer in the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff on Tuesday 17th May at 2.00pm.

Simultaneously, Ivor Davies will be writing the poem 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' on rolls of old wallpapers to be raised high into the roof of the Sculpture Hall.
